Patrick Dupont Proudly Displays his 15.9lb
Lake Trout caught during the LCI Father's Day Fishing Derby
Patrick Dupont of North Hero, VT shows off his 15.9-pound lake trout,
currently the leading contender for the $28,000 Lakeshore Ace Laker after
the first day of the three-day event, which draws 5500 people from more
than 30 states. Caught while fishing with his twin brother Benjamin and
father Larry, and Team Member Keith Darby, the fish is
potentially worth nearly $40,000 in cash and nearly another $20,000 in
prizes, including two Starcraft boats and two Yamaha outboard engines in
the 28th Annual LCI Father’s Day Derby presented by Yamaha. The fish was
weighed in by LCI volunteer and USFWS biologist Dr. Bradley Young, captain
of the Shelburne Shipyard weigh station on Lake Champlain in Vermont.
I used Chamberlain Releases for all of the 2008
charter season on Lake
Michigan. The releases work as advertised. Best of all, small fish
(shakers) could trip the releases resulting in fewer dead lines. I won't
use any other kind for my clients.

These releases are the best thing to come on to the market in ages. I
used
them for the first time in Lake Ontario in May and I was amazed at how
easy
they were to set up and use. My rod tip was just about touching the
water
while my lure was down 95 feet on the rigger. It was very easy changing
lures
also just a little pop of the rod and you were good to go. Every fish
that
hit no mater how big released the clip it was great knowing that I
wasn't
trolling shakers any more. I have used them on Lake Winnipesaukee in New
Hampshire and in Long pond in Maine and they have worked flawlessly.
I
won't
go fishing with out them from now on.

Just purchased 2 of your releases this past week and couldn't wait to
try them. I had gotten to the point where I just didn't trust my
previous releases and had to pop them every 15 minutes to make sure I
wasn't dragging fish around the lake and had grown tired of not being
able to load enough tension on my rods when setting them. There was a
lot of guessing and every time I setup, the release behaved differently.
I spent 5 minutes checking the release settings in my driveway and set
them to what I liked then night before I left. They worked perfectly
from first fish to last. While we caught some nice salmon and rainbows,
I was most impressed by the 3-4 inch smallmouth that were terrorizing
our spread and tripping the release every time. I couldn't believe such
a small fish could trip the release AND I could put plenty of tension on
the rod. These are also the easiest releases to set I've ever had.
I can't wait for your stacker releases to come out. Thank you for the
great service and wonderful product.

Just got done with LCI Derby and used your
releases. They worked
flawlessly. We got into a lot of freshly stocked 8 to 10 inch fish and
thanks to your release we didn't have to drag them around or waste our
time
not fishing. Its nice to be able to adjust rod pressure and release
pressure. We don't kill as many fish either by dragging them for miles.
Great
product!!! The other thing I liked was that even though a small
fish would release,
I still had solid hook sets on bigger fish!!! Just when I thought you
couldn't build a better mouse trap, you did it!!!

The service I received was excellent and my phone
call regarding some
questions I had were answered more than satisfactory. The releases are
everything they claim to be and more. No more false releases and more
important no more killing small fish. Now able to release and wait for
them
to grow up to catch another day. You make a great product and would
recommend this release to anyone who uses downriggers.

Just finished fishing with my new Chamberlain
releases. All I can say is
THANK YOU Keith. They were everything we hoped and more. They got their
first test on, maybe a one pound king down 100 over 185. What an
improvement
over dragging around a shaker for awhile. One of the best improvements
in
fishing mechanics! If you fish with downriggers this is a must buy.
Thanks
again Keith for an easy to use product that works great!

These releases are superior over all others! No
more resetting due to false
releases and no more dragging around rats too small to trigger the
release.
I can set them so my rod tips are bent to the water and a five inch fish
will release! For years I have tried everything and have lost my
patience
several times and thanks to Chamberlain releases I can relax spending my
time fishing and not rigging. I will never own another release and
recommend
them to all the fishermen on my website! Thank You very much for solving
all
of my rigging problems, A.J. White (Salmonitis) Owner/Webmaster

I have tried just about every release out there over the years and I
have
never been overly enthusiastic about any particular one until now.
Fishing
for Landlocked Salmon on Lake Winnipesaukee you need to have a nice
light
release. The problem is it can get rather windy and rough out there
which
would translate into too many false releases and headaches rather than
relaxation and catching fish. Now, with the Chamberlain release I can
set
the lure release tension separately from the rod release tension.
BINGO! NO
MORE FALSE RELEASES! This is an awesome product and I can't wait to see
a
stacker version!

I bought a Chamberlain Release last year when they first came out. I've
struggled with the releases that were on the market. To many false
releases
or they would drag a shaker forever. This is the ONLY release I now own.
It
works for small fish (browns' steelhead) or big fish (king salmon &
large
cohos). This is an awesome release and have recommended it to my
friends. Thanks Keith for designing the best release for Lake Ontario.
I'm
sure it work well everywhere.

This is the best Downrigger release I have used, love the ability to
adjust
the vertical and horizontal pressures seperately. This release is so
easy,
my kids can now set the riggers. NO need to worry about dragging small
shakers or walleyes anymore. I have 3 of these on my boat now, and will
use
nothing else.
Rich DeMong, NY
This is without a doubt the best Release on the market today. I have
eliminated false releases, rubber bands, and dragging shakers around
Lake
Ontario. This is truly the last release I will ever need.
I have been using this release for the
first full season. While brown trout fishing on June 22nd on
Lake Ontario we landed 12 fish on 12 hits. In 15 years of fishing the
big pond this is the first time I can ever remember going a perfect 12
for 12. The fish all came from 45 to 23 feet down on the riggers. My
customers were more then happy to catch and release the rest of the
trip. What a great product!

I have been fishing on Lake Michigan for over 30 years. I have seen many
products that make wonderful claims on their effectiveness. Most come up
short. The Chamberlain release however is as advertised. The releases
work
well in all condition. I love the fact that I don't have to have baits
out
of the water to check for small fish. The Chamberlain releases have
improved
my fishing and I highly recommend them.

After years of using other brand Release's, which
either false release or
failed to release, I have changed to the Chamberlain Release. With it's
vertical and horizontal adjustments, I can have Rod pressure, yet have a
release with every strike. Armour Moodie,Greensboro Bend,VT
"The Chamberlain Release is by far the best
I've ever used. It works well on
our large Salmon and also handles small fish amazingly well. I have two
and
that is all I use now." Bill
Manson Standish, Maine
In August 2007 I used the Chamberlain Release
on my annual week of fishing
for King Salmon in Mexico Bay on Lake Ontario. In previous years I had
always used a Black style release with two rubber bands. I have 4
downriggers on my boat; I put the Chamberlain Release on three of them,
and
used rubber bands on the 4th. I fished at depths of 35 to 130 feet and
trolled at speeds of up to 3.5 mph with no false releases on the
Chamberlain
Release, even in rough water. I had many false releases with the rubber
bands. Due to the dual adjustments of the Chamberlain Release, I was
able
to greatly increase the vertical pressure from the rod to the release
than
what I could do with rubber bands. This meant much less slack line when
a
salmon struck. Sometimes the rod would not even pop up, it would just
bounce
frantically with nice King on the other end! It was the most salmon
hookups
(landed 29) I ever had in 18 years of fishing Lake Ontario! The average
size
fish was about 19-20lbs, with
an occasional 5 pounder. I was amazed by how much I could tighten down
the
rods without them releasing prematurely, and still be able to release
them
with a firm upward pull of the rod without having to raise the
downrigger.
At the same time, a smaller fish could also pop the Chamberlain Release.
This was usually not possible while fishing with rubber bands and large
11”
style flasher attractors and baits. I highly recommend the Chamberlain
release; with its dual vertical and horizontal adjustments, it is suited
for
a wide variety of fishing. I won’t go back to the rubber bands or any
other
releases! Fred DeMarzo. Lyndon, VT
"For many years
there has been nothing new in downrigger releases that are
simple and work until the new Chamberlain releases came out.
This release
works great for getting lots of pressure on the rod to the release but
will
get tripped by a small fish. This has never been done until now with the
Chamberlain release. I'm now using it and it's been very good and would
recommend it to others ."
